No Writing Time Equals Slightly Crazy

My house is all painted. Almost. I still need to finish all the trim work. A guy came and did some outside repairs yesterday, and my garage looks like a dumping ground.

Yeah, moving is exciting!

I’ve gained 4 pounds over the last week. It’s probably the combination of weird eating schedules, not enough water or sleep, nerves, no exercise, and when I do eat my preference is ice cream or granola loaded with chocolate.

I NEED these

The worst part is my mind is falling apart. Writing time is my time to organize my thoughts. Sure, I put my stuff on my characters, but that’s what I call therapy. Let’s just say I’m in dire need of some of that! The whole time I’ve been painting I’ve been trying to work out some details of the next book with Talia. Unfortunately, I haven’t written any of it down and now I can’t remember what I decided.

Then there’s Fade Into Me. I still think it’s the story that will catch me an agent. If I ever finish it. Dog gone it! I’m a stay at home mom. With all my kids in school. Where’s all my writing time?

Soon. Soon.

Since I’m not writing at the moment, tell me about your success stories. What are you working on and how’s it going?

  1. I hate it when you make important decisions about your book but don't write them down and then forgot what decision you made. It's happened to me a few times and it's SO frustrating! You know what's keeping me busy – book launch, growing a baby. In terms of the weight gain, if it makes you feel any better, I've put on eight kilograms in the last six months, and I'm pretty sure there's more coming… 😉 Seriously though, I'm sure that once you get settled again, your mind will become clearer and your eating habits will return to normal. Don't be too hard on yourself in the meantime – moving states is a big thing!

  2. Sorry the move has disrupted your world and writing time!

  3. Things will settle down eventually, Charity. Good that you have that story gnawing at your brain, it'll make getting back into your writing routine easier. 🙂

  4. You need to carry a notebook with you while you paint. Then you can jot down any brilliant ideas. Then again, they may come back to you when you least expect it.As for me, I'm plotting while watching 8th graders read short stories. At least that's the plan. We'll see how cooperative the 8th graders decide to be.

  5. Oo, I hope those 8th graders do cooperate, and thanks for the idea! I did put a little notepad on the fridge. Maybe that will help.

  6. Thanks Cally. Today I had three good friends come help me paint my kitchen. It's so sad! Now it doesn't look like my house at all so I'm ready to go. Maybe now that the kitchen is no longer sunny yellow I won't go in there as often. And weight gain doesn't count when you're growing a baby. 😉

  7. Me too, but that's life. Right?

  8. Your life sounds way too busy for me. I'd need a vacation from it.

  9. Me too! That cruise was way too short. I'm ready for another one.
